To protect your gear, such as your clubs, a cover is fundamental for your golfing needs. A golf bag will, of course, hold your clubs in one place and will make it easier for you to bring many. Golf bags can also contain balls and other items like a water bottle to quench your thirst while under the sun or an extra shirt or your walking shoes. It also covers the edge of your club. This is done so to protect it from unwanted scratches and dents. Dents can cause your drive to go from good to bad.

The first piece of equipment is the golf ball. Golf balls are dimpled so they can reach a farther length when struck by clubs. Most courses will provide you with balls if you don’t have any.

When gearing up for golf, spend a lot of time educating yourself about clubs and drivers. Drivers come in several styles. This is because each course has varied landscapes and different clubs are needed to make the perfect drive. Depending on the terrain, be it sand, grass or cement, a golf club is crucial to make the right drive. Professional golfers always have a bag or two of clubs to cater to their needs. Most sports equipment stores sell clubs. Some are sold in sets while other are sold individually.

Perhaps your best guide for the finest vacation golf vacation is the golfer’s magazine “Golf Digest”. There are lots of golf courses advertised in the said magazine. Some of them even offering the best price there is for those who would like to grab the opportunity. You can also key-in the Internet to search for the most perfect golf vacation. But take note, you must first get a good guide before jumping in. Or you can ask your golfing buddies to confirm for the location.

Equipment that is typically supplied by most golf courses (aside from the ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin that you punch in the ground to stand your ball onto. It is used for teeing off (the opening of your first drive) thus the name.

Golf clubs are essential to the game and, actually, an intimate part of every game. For this reason, purchasing pre-owned clubs can be tricky, but it is possible. If you know what type of clubs you want and are patient, resale shops are a very economic approach to finding high quality clubs at a reasonable price. Now, if you are looking for left-handed golf clubs you may be surprised how easily you may still be able to find the clubs you need. Lefties get rid of clubs also, and there are fewer left-handed golfers to pick them up so resale shops really is a good place to find such unique clubs. Whether you are just frugal with your money or on a certain budget, pre-owned golf clubs is a good way to save some extra money that could be spent elsewhere like a golfing trip to Benidorm.

In choosing your best golf vacation, you must consider the location. If say, you live in the East Coast, choose a golf location which is located somewhere in the East Coast Area only. Choosing the other side of the country will make your golf vacation a very expensive one. However, you might also consider choosing the best course from the other side of the country, but it would always take some considerations for your cost before getting the plane ticket.

Especially for the beginner golfer, used golf balls are a great way to save money. You can find used golf balls by the bag at thrift stores, yard sales or even golf supply shops sometimes. Rather than purchasing new balls only to be lost in the water or woods, purchasing a bag of used golf balls is a smart investment allowing the golfer to practice his or her golf swing without worrying about the loss.

You can also find bags of tees also, as well as golf towels, cleat wrench kits and ball washers all of which can be found in a resale setting. Yard sales and resale shops are the best places to find used club head covers and other golf accessories.

One mandatory piece of equipment that you need to invest in is a good pair of shoes. Golf shoes are different from usual rubber or tennis shoes. They were designed to walk on grass. Golf shoes normally have pointed rubber on the soles to penetrate the earth and soil under your feet. This way, distracting shaking or moving is avoided. This is important because shaking can cause you to miss the ball or do it in the wrong direction. If you desire to play professionally, a quality pair of golf shoes is a vital piece of equipment to add to your list. Choose a pair that are sturdy yet comfortable enough for you to walk in. Golf is a sport that requires traveling from one hole to another or to where your ball landed and thus, if your shoes are painful, you will have a hard time concentrating on your game.

Another fairly common purchase is gently worn golf shoes. Whether you find them at a garage sale, thrift store or used golf accessory shop, low cost yet name brand golf shoes are easy to find. Again, though, a little patience will go a long way along with an open mind.

Planning ahead the schedule is also one way of getting discounts on your golf vacation. When you book as early as possible, golf courses will give some discounts for your booking and you will always take the luxury of getting ahead from others. The advantage of booking ahead is that you would not have to get the hustle of getting another booking because it is already full on closer dates. There are also times when golf courses hold some scheduled tournaments so you would be advised if the golf course is full on the day you choose to have your golf vacation. However, you must be committed to your schedule. Otherwise, some golf courses would not give you the discount if you will be changing your booking.

Purchasing Pre-Owned Golf Clubs

For golfers on a budget, the good news is that there are plenty of options available to find used golf equipment. You can find gently worn items ranging from golf clubs to golf carts that no longer met the needs of their former owners. Even if you are not on a set budget, there are countless ways to find quality, pre-owned golf items that are still in great condition.

Learning how to play golf requires more than just skill. Basic equipment and learning about your golfing needs are necessary features for gearing up for golf. Here are some tips for the novice to help you in learning the ropes.

The most amazing piece of equipment ever made is the golf cart. Golf carts will carry you from one hole to the next, and though they are not allowed on the greens, nevertheless they lessen the burden of having to walk under the hot sun. This equipment can be acquired from golf courses. Players are often made to use a cart to give them a better and easier time playing the sport.

In a capitalist society, when one pays for something he or she can expect others to do things for him or her, such as carry bags or drive cars. Things are much different on golf courses. Golf courses are the only places where one of the basic tenets of capitalism, namely “When you pay, you can get someone else to do things for you,” is ignored in many ways.

If you want to stop slicing one golf swing drill perfect for helping to correct a slice is to practice on the range with a club, usually around a five iron to seven iron that has a molded golf grip to make sure your hands stay in the correct position all the way thru your golf swing. Hand position is extremely important throughout the entire swing and a molded golf grip will help to build the proper muscle memory in your hands, wrist, and forearms for a correct swing. The great Harvey Penick once said, “If you’re slicing, then look to the hands.” That’s good advice because the typical slicer can correct their problem by making sure their hands are properly positioned on the golf club throughout the entire golf swing. If the hands aren’t positioned correctly the club face can remain open at impact producing the dreaded slice.

Golf courses have people who work there known as “rangers.” These rangers keep driving around the golf course in their carts and keep an eye on golfers to make sure that they are not playing too slowly and holding up people behind them. Sometimes these rangers even tell golfers to play a little faster. To these rangers, I would like to say something like “Listen, pal. I paid a lot of money to play a relaxing game of golf and I am going to take my time. If people behind me are in a hurry, tell them to skip this hole and go on to the next hole. But they better not hold me up when I reach the next hole.” I would really like to say something like that, but will most probably wimp out and just say “Okay, sorry, I will play a little faster.”

Another common mistake golfers make is that they don’t keep their left shoulder down through their swing. If your left shoulder comes up before impact the tendency is for the arms to turn outward towards impact which opens the face of the club and produces a sliced golf shot. Golfer who tend to raise their head up before impact often find themselves slicing because they also raise their left shoulder and turn their chest too quickly. A great golf swing drill for keeping your head and shoulder down through your golf swing is to turn your head back to your right (this example refers to a right handed golfer) and look back at the ball with your eyes instead of looking straight down. This will give you an extra split second over the ball during your swing and help you keep your head down.

On some courses the green fee is really high, amounting to a couple of hundred dollars for a round of 18-holes of golf. Even on these courses one still has to pay a lot more money to hire a caddy. For the same price, one can get a couple of pizzas delivered to his or her home everyday for at least a week or more, rent and watch several movies, or have quite a few dinners at good restaurants.

One of the most common and affective golf drills for straightening a slice is to turn your hands a little counter clockwise on the golf shaft. Just move your hands around just a bit more than a normal grip would be in the counter clockwise direction. You’re slicing because your hands haven’t turned over at impact so the club face is still a bit open. Although this tip doesn’t work with all golfers you may find that this swing drill will help you close the face of the club at impact and hit a much straighter golf shot.

When I go to play golf, I have to pay the “green fees,” which most often also includes a cart fees. Sometimes, the green fee does not include a cart fees. In such cases, I am expected to carry my own bag across 18 holes of the golf course. When people go to a grocery store, they can pay an attendant to help them take the goods that they bought to their cars and also help them load the goods into their cars, all for a small tip, usually amounting to a couple of dollars. By comparison, the green fees charged by many golf courses are much higher. In spite of paying a higher price, there is no one to carry my bag - I have to do it myself. Of course you can hire caddies, but they charge more money to carry bags than the green fees that golfers typically pay for the privilege of playing on the golf course.

For those people who are not aware of the practicalities of golf the golf swing plane is actually made up of three separate parts - the backswing when the golf draws back the club ready to swing and hit the ball, the downswing which is the part of the golf swing where the club gathers momentum and force and finally the moment of impact with the ball and the follow through. Get these three parts correct and you will be hitting balls to be proud of.

It is true that there are many reasonably priced golf courses where the green fee includes the use of a golf cart. However, even on these courses I have to drive the cart myself or the person who plays with me, who has also paid the green and cart fees, has to drive the cart. I think that golf courses, especially those that charge a lot of money, should provide chauffer-driven carts to drive golfers from one hole to another.

Breaking it down simply, if you want to stop slicing then you’re going to have to stop spinning the golf ball clockwise. Whatever is causing you to slice is probably now a habit within your swing if you’ve played for any length of time. In order to stop slicing you’ll have to identify what part of your golf swing is causing you to leave the club face open at impact. You may want to spend an hour with a golf professional who will video tape your golf swing and will help you pinpoint your problem area. There’s also a ton of inexpensive literature on the Internet that will show you the swing drills that work and that will help you develop a better golf swing.

You know, for a device as potentially bad ass as the Martin Jetpack is ? the company boasts a maximum range of 31.5 miles at 63 mph, and the ability to hover at 8,000 feet above ground effect ? the video we?ve seen thus far has been pretty lackluster. Of course, you can?t actually get your hands on one anyways (check back in January 2010), but that isn?t stopping the company from accepting your $10,000 deposit for the opportunity to get in on the ground floor. Golf - Why Am I Paying To Work?

Filed Under Golf Clubs | Comments Off

Anyone who plays golf knows the importance of the golf swing plane, this is part of the game of golf that is key to determining how far the golf ball will be hit. Having a good golf swing plane means that you will be hitting the ball much further down the fairway and will be able to improve your handicap. Having a poor golf swing plane will result in mis-shots and balls that fall far short of where they were intended to go.

In order to make sure that you have a golf swing plane that is just the right angle you should imagine a sheet of plastic that runs from the ball to over your shoulders. You should then make sure that your golf club, during the swing, travels parallel to this invisible sheet of plastic. Doing this will create the best golf swing for you and help you to raise your game in no time.
