Open Question: What’s with hip hop styles today?
I hate the fact that many people have enjoyed going through high school with awesome hip hop music, but lately it sucks for me since I’m from a younger generation of untalented loads off rappers who think skinny jeans are amazing, vans look cool, glasses, petite t-shirts are cool, and skateboards are cool and it gives them swag?? I hate how these rappers are giving hip hop such a stupid name nowadays, I loved the Hip hop that I would listen to to hear about stories of the life and struggles of people in the hood, and the stories of success coming out of the hood, drugs, violence and drinking. I mean I loved how it was inspirational at times because it helped me get up and stop feeling bad for my life, when theres people living out there in worse conditions than me. I miss Method Man, Nas, 2Pac, Slick Rick, Eminem, what happened to those guys and their music about struggles and life stories? Even clothing changed in hip hop, before it was baggy Phat Farm,Rocawear, or just any brand of baggy jeans, with a plain baggy white t-shirt and a fitted cap or a baseball cap, nowadays its supid rainbow skinny jeans, vans that look like golf shoes, and tight little v-neck t-shirts that look like they were bought at an infant clothing store. WTF is up with kids of today that like this stuff and think its cool? I miss the retro NBA jerseys that rappers would rock back in the day, the backwards caps, bandanas, sick chains and jewelery, the timbs and boots, nowadays rappers like New Boyz think that turquoise and purple skinny jeans look cool, with a size small v-neck shirt and a scarf and tight fitted cap that shows the shape of your head. I seriusly hate todays music and wish I could have been in high school when the Carter 2 by Lil Wayne was out or the Carter which were two of Lil Wayne is best solo albums out to this day, or when T.I was still a thug and not a pop sellout like today with whatever you like, or when Snoop Dogg still kept it gangsta with the Blue Carpet Treatment releasing singles like Boss’ Life ft Nate Dogg and That’s that shit with R.Kelly. I miss the hip hop from the 90’s to about 2006’s 2007ish. You just don’t hear rap like that anymore nowadays. Now its all about jerkin and vans! Please tell me what to do I can’t cope with seeing idiot kids in my school dress like stupid jerkers, I want baggy jeans and baggy tees to go back into style!
